What are BiodynamicsPart of reconnecting with nature starts with becoming attuned to the rhythm of the earth.
I researched into Biodynamics and I am currently building this process into the Permaculture your garden course that I am setting up. What better way to connect with nature than through the land closest to you. I researched making my own Biodynamic preparation but this seemed a bit labour and time intensive and required me to start a good 8 months before I needed it, so I decided to start by buying it ready made and adding it in to the compost and spraying the plants. This was a good way of trying out and testing Biodynamics on a small scale ,I could then go on to use it on a larger scale once the results proved positive. Along side researching Biodynamics I also researched in to the Anastasia series books which when I read discovered a claim that seeds impregnated with our DNA grow to balance the nutrients and minerals missing in our bodies. With both systems I researched and found scientific back up . Research completed by a scientist called Barbara Mcclintock confirmed the link for seed DNA connection. The whole series is a fascinating insight into a way of living and coexisting in harmony with the earth worth a read. According to Anastasia, by working through certain processes the seed is able to take in information about the person who plants it, and then during the cultivation of its fruit it will pick up from the Universe and the Earth the optimum blend of energies needed for the individual. This process also works in with the different cycles of the moon so works well with Biodynamics. Find out more about seeds and DNA and The Ringing Cedars Click on link |
Working with DNAScientifically proving the theory While doing some study of neuroscience with Prof. Robert Sapolsky of Stanford, and believe that I have found the process by which the gardener, the garden, and the soil are interconnected in a feedback loop. Plants have lots of transposable genetic events which Barbara McClintock's work predicted ("jumping genes"). There is apparently a complete feedback loop which goes from gardener to seed to plant to produce to gardener which creates health in people who garden and eat their own produce. When you plant the seed or the seedling, it receives chemical information from the moisture in your breath, the perspiration of your hands, among other things, and that information acts as a "stressor" on the plants and leads to the moving of sections of genes around so that they code for new proteins exactly designed to re-balance whatever incipient imbalances in one's body could lead to illness. Plants, in other words, can act as our personal physician if we allow them to by planting and eating food planted, nurtured, and harvested in local gardens Click on link to go How to put your DNA in to seeds Connection to the earthOne of the goals of the course is to reconnect people back to the earth and start to become part of the whole again. Tthis can be achieved through:
Biodynamics and also using the Anastasia book principles through impregnating seeds with your own DNA . The basics of Biodynamics are:
Looking at the four elements that nature provides us with – earth, air, fire and water. We match each element to a part of a given plant – earth to root, air to flower, fire to fruit and seed and water to leaf. Then we match each of those parts of the plant along with their element to the twelve signs of the zodiac. Then we can see that as the moon moves through each of the twelve on its 27 and a bit day journey around the earth every month it will influence those parts of the plant relating to the zodiacal sign e.g. Pisces=water/leaf, Capricorn=earth/root see bellow more information about Biodynamics. |
Introduction to BiodynamicsThe Biodynamic Association provides a wide section of information and resources on Biodynamics. It also sells biodynamic preparation for the compost. Click on link to go to The Biodynamic Association |
Biodynamic booksThere are plenty of books on the subject of Biodynamics, Starting with making the compost to planting up to running a farm using Biodynamics. click on link to view |

Eco villagesFindhorn is a sustainable Eco village which works by connecting people together in a sustainable environment. Living and working together while also educating people to live together through connection through earth energies and encouraging spiritual development at the same time. Click on link to go to Eco village Findhorn Designing the course See below the design and advertising for Permaculture your garden I advertised it at the monthly Weaving The Web sessions and around the network of people I know. The course incorporates: Connection to nature through Biodynamics /sees DNA meditation Utilising and pooling resources already available Utilising skills within the group /encourage empowerment Networking with other groups to learn more skills Building projects in individual gardens |
Global Eco villagesThis site looks at the building up of global eco villages through out the world some of which are modelled on Findhorn. Click on link to go to Global Eco villages Costing's One of the aims behind the course is to use as little money as possible utilizing resources that are readily available can be shared or sourced for nothing so there is no budget for this course. The cost of any materials required to be purchased for an individual garden is paid for by that person. The venues are free as they are individually owned gardens. Travel costs are kept to a minimum as car shares are operated when ever possible. Food is brought by each person to share. Timings A specific time table was planned in order to work through all the points we needed to cover. |
