Tweaking and monitoring
Self assessment and feedback
What works
The sessions have been up and running since March 2013 and are working well. meeting on average 2 to 4 times a month.
We have a hard core group of people who have attended all the group sessions and have been keen to learn more skills.
The course is growing and expanding all the time and I have incorporated more subjects in to the courses to extend other skills and knowledge:
Nutrition learning to prepare and cook macrobiotic foods which ties in to the food we grow in the gardens.
Visiting Orchard Barn to view the Permaculture projects to view larger scale Permaculture projects.
Encourage the group to attend The green festival at which we had a stall to promote The Permaculture your garden course, The permaculture course at Orchard Barn Weaving The Web and The phoenix Gatherings.
.
We have build a lot of projects in each garden demonstrating how easy it is to complete a project utilizing a group of people and their skills. They have all been amazed at how easy it is to start the projects utilizing materials that they already have in their gardens or can access very easily for little or no money.
The Bio dynamics worked well and there was a marked difference between the non Biodynamic group which was poorer in quality and the normal organic seeds.
Using the Biodynamic preparation had a marked effect on the vibration in that part of the growing area , it felt more vibrant and alive.
Each person was given the biodynamic preparation to take home and use at certain times of the month.
different types of veg ie root flowering etc.
Each person was given the preparation and asked to record how the plants reacted to the spraying. Some of the group are used to mediation techniques so I asked them to tune in as they were working with the plants and report their feelings and senses on paper.
Most of them reported independently being aware of the life force with in the plants and vegetables being grown.
I will continue to monitor this and record more data as I receive it.
The Anastasia part of the experiment will not be completed until the fruit is eaten and again I will record the feed back.
What didn't work
The group were very committed to the project and overall attended most of the sessions.
I tended to be relaxed with the content of each session and could have been more proactive and organized with the goals of each session ensuring the learning outcome for each person was achieved.
I have since attended a PTLLS course and I am approaching any courses or sessions I plan from a much more structured level with clear goals and criteria.
Costing's
As I mentioned above the courses were kept to the minimum by:
1.Sharing resources
Compost/seeds/pots/growing bags
2.Utilizing resources we already had as a group
3.Asking for resources from businesses that were no longer used
4.Being creative with resources to create what we needed
Dec 2013 How this has effected me
It is my belief that the spiritual connection to the earth is the first and fundamental foundation of Permaculture, without this it is purely going through the motions and destined to fail.
As I have worked on each diploma project I have found the spiritual connection between each soul and the earth is in evidence, I have explored many faiths and found the 1 strong connection with them all is the earth and our relationship with ourselves within it.
While we continue to keep ourselves separate from nature we will not learn and grow, once we start to work with nature we start to work with ourselves take responcibility for ourselves, we are a reflection of the earth. It was my aim to bring that part into my people coaching course which I have done.
