Project
I decided on this project to go back and take an in-depth view of my past projects, check that I was still on track with everything. Was there any tweaking to be done?
As most of these projects have already been planed and built I am in a good position to see what has worked for me and what hasn’t, look at the challenges I faced, how I overcame them and would I make the same mistakes again.
Each project in my diploma has covered an important building block and foundation in my opinion essential to leading a happy and successful life to enable individuals to attain their full potential .
I understand increasingly as I worked through the projects that it is the deep seated attitude and reflex buried deep within the unconscious mind that has developed over our life time, It is our survival mechanism and moulds how we react to what we think we are entitled to in life. In order to move forward there is a need to recognise and deal with negative self-sabotaging behaviour.
Professional
By utilizing the teaching methods I learned in the PTLLS course I completed in July 2013 I have been able to plan out a comprehensive course and lesson plan to formulate the self-assessment reviews. Learning how to lay out each section step by step has helped me to view each project individually and assess what changes need to be applied. I have included the basic Permaculture principles and ethics into the course and I am now taking steps to work these into a life coaching course to empower people to reach their full potential.
I have also gained skills and confidence by teaching and co teaching one day courses, this has given me the confidence to try new creative ways of teaching a subject to all abilities.
I aim to start to teach this course and share the information and passion with others to encourage them to touch on their infinite potential that lays dormant in each individual waiting to be awoken.
Personal
Completing this project I have retraced my steps and re-examined many of the areas I have been working through on a personal level over the past 2 years with in these 9 projects.
I have reviewed how my feelings and motivation have changed. Part of survival is adaption to an ever changing environment, there is no shame in recognising a need for a slight change in direction to the road you were originally on.
Keeping the motivation growing has been one of the hardest challenges I have faced. When I first started the diploma I was originally surrounded by people who were passionate and motivated for the same objective and goals, but over time their circumstances have changed for many and I have found myself increasingly having to motivate myself, especially since following the Independent route of the Permaculture diploma. It makes it a lonely road but I have dug deep and found reserves of courage and determination I didn’t realise I possessed, helping me to understand these feelings and transfer these skills on to others to motivate them onwards. I realise nothing is wasted I have learned from every emotion and circumstance whether seemly negative or positive.
